Limited Edition Clear Orchid Synth Returns: Order May 5 at $699
BREAKING: Orchid Synth Back in Stunning Clear Finish – Pre-Orders Open May 5
The buzzy synth co-designed by Tame Impala's Kevin Parker is making a comeback. Telepathic Instruments has announced a limited edition clear version of the Orchid called Arctic, priced at $699.

The instrument has been out of stock for months. The new batch drops on May 5, with standard translucent models still available at $649.
“The clear Arctic finish lets you see every component inside – it’s the most beautiful Orchid we’ve ever made,” said a Telepathic Instruments spokesperson.
Kevin Parker, who helped conceive the Orchid, added: “We wanted something that felt like a piece of art you can play.”
Background
The Orchid draws heavy inspiration from chord organs popular in 1950s and 1960s homes. It allows musicians to play rich chord progressions instantly without needing extensive music theory or complex fingerings.
The instrument quickly went viral after its initial release, creating a buzz that made it hard to find. Its unique sound and ease of use attracted both beginners and professionals.

Telepathic Instruments partnered with Parker to develop the synth, blending retro design with modern electronics. The new Arctic edition marks the first colorway change since launch.
What This Means
For musicians who missed the first drop, this is a rare second chance. The limited clear run is expected to sell out quickly due to high demand and collectibility.
The $699 price point places it as a premium tool for creative expression. Analysts predict the resale market for this edition could spike within weeks.
“This isn't just a synth – it’s a statement piece for any studio,” said electronic music producer and early Orchid adopter, Mia Chen. “The clear shell makes it a visual centerpiece too.”
